Working independently to plan, analyze, implement, and provide ongoing maintenance of information system infrastructure including servers and networking equipment. **The Junior Systems Administrator** will provide backup and second-tier support to the IT Helpdesk Support role as well as provide backup for ongoing 24/7 network and server monitoring to the Senior Systems Administrator role.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- **Assist and monitor the server and network equipment on behalf of the Information Management team**:

- Support the installation, monitoring and backup of servers, network infrastructure and key data, while proactively responding to network issues.
- Monitor resource (network, disk space, cpu, ram, etc) utilization proactively, and test hardware and software thoroughly before production use.
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of infrastructure documentation and policies while ensuring CPSA meets all IT security standards through monitoring and audit practices.
- Participate in high-priority projects, leveraging technical expertise to deliver results that meet business objectives.
- Perform complex hardware and software updates as required, ensuring seamless system maintenance and minimizing downtime.
- Set up and troubleshoot meeting room resources including laptops, TV displays, Room Scheduling Extron panels and Software, video and audio-conferencing equipment, phones, etc.
- Support security standards such as EDR software, firewall configuration, PC and server patching and two-factor authentication.
- **Collaborate with external vendors and act as the Outsourced Server liaison**:

- Serve as a liaison between the team and external vendors and support teams, ensuring that resolutions meet the needs of our users and align with business objectives.
- Collaborate with the current outsourced server environment at AWS to ensure change requests are implemented and that service level agreements are met.
- Ensure that the outsourced server site at AWS works consistently with CPSA equipment.
- Assist with any after-hours planned or urgent work that may be required.
- **Provide Helpdesk backup support to the IT Helpdesk Support team when required**:

- Facilitate and assist CPSA team members with helpdesk inquires.
- Provide tier 2 support when problems arise that require collaboration with helpdesk.
- Provide backup on an on-call or first-response basis for ongoing 24/7 network and server monitoring to the Senior Systems Administrator role while away for any reason.
- In support of continuous quality improvement, research new technologies, review processes and make recommendations to enhance CPSA’s technology practices.
- Other duties as required

**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education**:

- Diploma or program in information technology or equivalent

**Experience**:

- Requirement for 3 to 5 years of related experience

**Skills**:

- Have a solid understanding of the following areas: TCP/IP Networking fundamentals
- M365 capabilities, Identity management principles and Backup and recovery strategies.
- Knowledge of current Microsoft Windows 10, Windows 11, Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022. SQL server 2019. TEAMS voice administration, Azure AD, M365
- Administration: Tenant, OneDrive, Teams, Exchange and SharePoint Online.
- Knowledge of Cisco switches configuration and installation.
- Working experience with VPN configuration, user management and client software.
- Working experience with virtualization technologies in a live production environment such as: ESXi and Hyper-V based environments.
- Knowledge of Firewalls set up and configuration.
- Working experience with management and configuration of EDR software.
- Advanced interpersonal, communication and customer orientation skills
- Strong organization, prioritization and analytical thinking skills with the ability to multi-task.

**SALARY**
The salary for this position is $68,826 and includes a comprehensive benefit package and pension plan.
