Solar Installer Technician

**Job Overview**

**Responsibilities**
- Installation of solar electric systems on various slopes of roofs of residential and commercial buildings, as well as commercial ground mount project
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to complete installations.
- Ensure crew and job site safety, including proper use of PPE and Fall Protection
- Conduct site assessments to determine optimal solar panel placement.
- Dig trenches for electrical wiring and perform basic welding tasks when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all installation processes.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues that arise during installations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all job sites.

**Requirements**:

- Journeyperson Certificate (recognized in Alberta) required - Red Seal preferred
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to solar installation.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand low ,medium and high voltage systems.
- Ability to carry heavy solar panels and other items up to 60lbs throughout the day
- Comfortable working on roofs (various slopes)
- Ability to dig trenches and perform welding tasks as required.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Willing to work out of town occasionally
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- A valid driver's license is preferred.

**Preferred and Must required**:

- Solar training and/or solar installation certification (SAIT, NAIT, NABCEP, SEI, etc)
- Solar installation experience
- Valid Fall Protection training/certification.
- Experience working on sloped roofs.

Pay: $50.00-$70.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 16 per week
