**About the Role**
We are seeking a creative, strategic, and detail-oriented **Menu Innovation Chef** to lead the development of new and exciting menu items for our hospitality brand. This role is pivotal in driving culinary innovation while ensuring operational feasibility, food quality, and profitability across our locations.
**Key Responsibilities**
- **Menu Development & Innovation**:
- Conceptualize and develop new food and beverage offerings aligned with brand identity and customer trends.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify culinary trends and opportunities.
- Lead tastings, presentations, and internal approvals for new dishes.
- **Recipe Development & Standardization**:
- Create standardized recipes with detailed preparation methods and plating guides.
- Develop clear, scalable recipes suitable for multi-location execution.
- **Costing & Profitability**:
- Accurately calculate food costs for all new menu items, maintaining target margins.
- Source and collaborate with vendors to ensure ingredient availability and cost-efficiency.
- **Operational Rollout & Training**:
- Partner with the Operations and Training teams to roll out new menu items across all stores.
- Conduct in-store training, kitchen trials, and quality assurance checks to ensure consistent execution.
- Provide tools such as SOPs, portion control guides, and kitchen display materials.
- **Cross-Functional Collaboration**:
- Work closely with marketing for product launches and promotional campaigns.
- Liaise with procurement, logistics, and supply chain to streamline ingredient sourcing and distribution.
- **Continuous Improvement**:
- Monitor the performance of new menu items post-launch, including guest feedback, sales data, and operational efficiency.
- Iterate and optimize offerings based on data and insights.
**Qualifications**
- Proven experience (5+ years) as a chef in high-volume, multi-unit hospitality, restaurant groups, or QSR environments.
- Culinary degree or equivalent training.
- Strong knowledge of food costing, kitchen operations, and supply chain logistics.
- Passion for food trends, creativity in culinary innovation, and understanding of diverse cuisines.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- Proficient in recipe software, Excel, and basic kitchen management systems.
