**The Quality Assurance Associate is responsible for ensuring and maintaining the company’s Quality Standards and Plans. The role involves developing and implementing, maintaining, quality assurance policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance and regulations.**
**Key responsibilities of a QA Associate may include**:
- Working knowledge of quality management systems and 1-2 years of experience preferred.
- Oversee all quality control on drug products, veterinary biologics, natural health products, and dog and cat health food products.
- Ensure all regulatory requirements such as proper handling/shipping and storage conditions are met.
- Coordinate and oversee all facility audits and communicate with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency as well as Health Canada as needed.
- Create a manual of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for all facility procedures in the GMP area.
- Maintain all calibration of equipment and up-to-date records.
- Ensure proper documentation is completed for all GMP practices and implement new protocols as necessary.
- Implement and manage CAPA, Non-conformance, product complaints and other quality issues.
- Provide all new staff with training for Transportation of Dangerous Goods, WHMIS, Workplace Violence and Harassment, GMP and SOPs
- Coordinate with warehouse management to ensure compliance with all GMP protocols, and warehouse efficiency and to make improvements wherever possible.
- Educate and manage all warehouses on any tasks in the GMP area which may affect product quality.
- Strong knowledge of all products and their handling and storage requirements
- Implement and coordinate stop sales or recalls if deemed necessary.
- Interact with manufacturers of drug products and veterinary biologics.
- Implement new protocols as necessary.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
The requirement for this role includes relevant experience in the quality assurance field including a Bachelor’s or Diploma degree in Science. Other key skills for a QA Associate may include strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
