**Solar Installer Technician**

Solar Dynamics is a leading solar photovoltaic installer located in Kitchener, Ontario. We are currently hiring installer technicians to join our team

This position requires daily attendance at our Kitchener facility and then travel to the job site with a company vehicle.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
- Work with project manager and crew lead to install roof top and ground mount solar panel systems.
- Carry out installation of racking systems, panels/modules with associated plumbing and electrical work under the direction of project manager
- Use appropriate tools to install solar energy systems in accordance with Manufacturer and Engineering design and specifications.
- Assist with the commissioning of solar energy systems as directed.
- Verify system performance to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Perform service calls as directed.
- Prepare trouble reports on defective equipment.
- Prepare and maintain inventory levels in warehouse and onsite vehicles
- Develop and refine installation techniques.
- Ensure that project site is safe at all times.
- Maintain crew vehicle and project site cleanliness.
- Properly dispose of trash and recyclable materials.
- When instructed to do so operate the company vehicle in a safe and considerate manner in accordance with Company Vehicle Policy.
- Pack up tools and equipment at the beginning and end of the working day at the job site and unload them securely and safely as required.
- Ensure tools and equipment are in good working order.
- Carry out duties within scope of work schedules assigned by the Solar Dynamics Corporation management in a logical, orderly and efficient manner.
- Ability to travel up to 200km.
- Must be able to lift and maneuver 75 lbs
- Must not be afraid of heights
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualification**
- Well-rounded individual capable of assuming multiple types of responsibilities.
- Positive and team-oriented. Ability to work well with others is very important.
- An excellent communicator and self motivated.
- Experienced working with your hands and experienced in electrical work, construction, or carpentry.
- You must be comfortable standing and working on roof tops in both hot and cold weather.
- Comfortable with occasionally working long hours as required in order for the installation crew to complete the project for the day.

**Education/Experience**

Experience in residential / commercial electrical construction is an asset. College or technical school education is preferred with one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read, write and comprehend instructions, drawings, correspondence, and memos is a must.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization will be required on occasion.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure imperial and metric, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals is an absolute requirement.

**Certificates and Licenses**

Must have valid driver's license. Electrical Apprentice License is a plus (Journeymen are also invited to apply)

**Physical Demands**

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to accurately maneuver and handle materials while maintaining their balance on residential and commercial roofs; including actions such as to stoop, kneel, crouch, or climb. The employee is frequently required to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. The vision requirements include: close vision and depth perception.

**Work Environment**

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions such as cold, heat, wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock.

**Salary**: $22.00-$28.00 per hour

- 10 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
- Overtime

Supplemental pay types:

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Kitchener-Waterloo, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
