Fortis Mining, Engineering, & Manufacturing is growing, and we're on the lookout for a passionate, detail-driven **Pipefitter**, for a short term project. The Pipefitters’ primary responsibilities include installing various pipe specifications. This will be accomplished through the ability to review and interpret blueprints and other diagrams to understand requirements. The Pipefitter must possess technical knowledge of how to properly fit pipe and identify the right type for the job. The ability to troubleshoot and determine corrective actions on-site is an asset. **Project details**

  • 14 / 7 schedule; working in an underground Potash environment

**What You’ll Be Doing**

  • Fit various types of pipes
  • Use pipe fitting tools for cutting and attaching pipe to different materials
  • Read designs, diagrams, or blueprints and identify exactly what type of pipe is required for the job
  • Test, maintain, and modify pipe systems

**What You Bring to the Table**

  • Must provide proof of Apprenticeship level or Red Seal Journeyperson Certification
  • Experience in cutting, fitting, attaching various pipe materials
  • Experience in high-quality inspections, repairs, and maintenance of pipe systems
  • Knowledge of piping systems relating to bolt-up of fittings and valves as well as measuring threading and cutting
  • Any safety-related training and certificates would be beneficial, but not required
  • Must have excellent dexterity and precision in movement
  • Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Commitment to working safely and following safety protocol
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to work alone and in a team environment
  • Strong time-management skills
