Food Service Assistant - Two (2) Positions
Northern Ontario Addiction Treatment Centre of Excellence
Full-Time; 37.50 Hours/Week - $24.96/hour

**APPLICATION DEADLINE**: Tuesday, September 10, 2024 - 12:00 p.m.
The Incumbent will assist with food preparation, portioning meals, and serving nutritious meals to clients as advised by the Team Lead. Completing any administration as requested including logging food temperatures, wastage, and cleaning schedules. To ensure the maintenance of a clean and safe kitchen according to Health and Safety regulations.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current Food Safety Handlers Certificate
- 1 year experience with food preparation from recipes for large numbers
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Experience in working in a residential setting
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Food preparation training and experience working in an industrial kitchen
- In-person, on-site position. Must be able to reliably commute to the Hub in North Bay, ON required
- Bilingualism is an asset

**DUTIES**:

- Assist in the preparation and portioning of meals and snacks for clients ensuring special dietary and requirements are met
- Maintain and observe HACCP food handling and processing procedures and regulations
- Record daily food temperatures as per Public Health regulations
- Clean and sanitize all equipment, counters, and workstations in kitchens and cafeterias as per standards and following WHMIS guidelines
- Assist with stocking/receiving food deliveries
- Assist with daily safety observations and report safety hazards discovered in the location to management immediately
- Participate in team meetings as required
