North 60 Inc. is seeking a visionary and results-driven Marketing and Business Development Consultant/Manager to lead the development and launch of a pioneering zero-emissions green hotel at Toronto International Airport. Operating under the globally recognized IHG “Voco” brand, this project will redefine sustainable hospitality as North America’s first zero-energy hotel, combining innovation, wellness, and hyper-personalized guest experiences.

**Key Responsibilities**:
- Marketing Strategy Development
- Design and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy that capitalizes on the established IHG “Voco” brand while emphasizing the hotel’s identity as a zero-GHG-emissions property.
- Highlight the hotel’s unique differentiators, including its zero-energy design, hyper-personalized guest experiences, and commitment to wellness and sustainability.
- Develop a pre-opening marketing campaign targeting key customer segments, scheduled to launch at least six months before the hotel’s opening.
- Business Development
- Focus on building relationships and securing long-term commitments with the following primary customer segments:
- Corporations, institutions, and governments with strong ESG mandates and carbon budgets, who prioritize sustainable travel accommodations.
- Eco-conscious travelers who value wellness and actively seek zero-emissions hotels that align with their values.
- Existing airport hotel customers are dissatisfied with the boring, conventional, and dated options currently available, offering them a fresh, innovative alternative.
- U.S. Travelers: Develop targeted strategies to attract travelers from the U.S., focusing on (These are top drivers in US Market today):
- Proximity to the Border: Highlight the hotel’s strategic location at Toronto Pearson Airport, a key international hub with convenient flights from major U.S. cities.
- Sustainability Leadership: Position the hotel as a unique destination for environmentally conscious U.S. travelers seeking innovative, zero-emissions accommodations.
- Wellness and Personalization: Promote the hyper-personalized guest experience, enhanced wellness features, and advanced indoor air quality as premium, health-focused differentiators for discerning U.S. travelers.
- Currency Advantage: Leverage the favorable exchange rate of the U.S. dollar compared to the Canadian dollar, highlighting the value U.S. travelers receive by booking luxury accommodations at a lower effective cost.
- Marketing Channels: Leverage IHG’s established network and loyalty programs in the U.S., such as IHG Rewards, to attract frequent travelers and members. Collaborate with travel agencies, corporate travel planners, and eco-tourism platforms to increase awareness and bookings.
- Cross-Border Promotions: Design marketing campaigns tailored to U.S. markets, including advertisements in key cities (e.g., New York, Chicago, Los Angeles) and partnerships with sustainable travel influencers to generate interest.
- Build and nurture strategic partnerships with sustainability-focused organizations, government agencies, and corporate clients to establish the hotel as their preferred lodging partner.
- Develop co-marketing opportunities and sponsorships to enhance visibility and align with like-minded organizations.
- Conduct market analysis to position the hotel competitively against industry peers, including the Alt Hotel at Toronto Pearson Airport.
- Operations Advisory
- Leverage knowledge of hotel operations to provide strategic input on service offerings, guest experiences, and competitive positioning in the Toronto market.
- Support the design of contactless and hyper-personalized guest experiences, enabling travelers to tailor their stays, including room amenities, air quality preferences, temperature control, and beverage options.
- Advocate for wellness-driven initiatives, such as high indoor air quality standards and environments designed to minimize viral transmission—key brand differentiators.
- Campaign Planning and Execution
- Develop and execute pre-opening campaigns to build anticipation and secure bookings from target customer segments, including the U.S. market.
- Collaborate with IHG brand representatives and North 60 leadership to ensure brand alignment and strategic coherence.
- Develop KPIs and provide regular updates to measure the effectiveness of marketing and business development activities.
**Qualifications**:
Proven experience in hotel marketing, business development, and operations consulting, with a track record of success in pre-opening campaigns or sustainable hospitality initiatives. Experience in a Toronto airport regional hotel or a comparable setting, with a strong understanding of the competitive airport hotel market.
