The Associate Vice-President President (Administration) serves as a key leader, driving academic excellence, innovation and enhancement of the student learning experience. Reporting to the Vice-President, Academic (VPA), the role supports the Office of the VPA in dealing with a wide range of academic Faculty, academic department, and cross-college initiatives. The incumbent will provide leadership support with the planning and implementation of academic initiatives related to the College’s Strategic Plan, Academic Plan and Business Plan, through:

- Leading the development and implementation of new academic policies and procedures, as well as the review and revision of existing academic policies and procedures as per published review dates;
- Managing the development and coordination of the annual and multi-year capital budget for the academic portfolio, in collaboration with the Capital Committee;
- Acting as the lead for the academic portfolio regarding space management;
- Managing the college’s Test Centre;
- Providing leadership for the associate deans in coordinating and executing academic operational issues and projects;
- Leading and coordinating annual Skills Competitions;
- Chairing, as well as serving as a member, on various institutional committees;
- Managing preparation and tracking related to the college-level student academic appeals process;
- Supporting conflict resolution processes for student complaints, grade appeals and public complaints;
- Co-Chairing the Workload Monitoring Group, and providing leadership to management/union processes;
- Managing and tracking legal cases originating in academic areas in concert with the Office of Risk Management.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- A minimum of a Master’s degree, with a Ph.D. being an asset
- Minimum of seven years of supervisory and managerial experience in an academic setting
- Demonstrated leadership experience in supervising, motivating, and developing the skills of employees, superior ability to lead teams in a collaborative manner
- Exceptional interpersonal, decision-making and organizational skills including the ability to deal effectively with students and/or staff in complex situations
- Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
- Ability to foster creativity and innovation while achieving
