We seek excellent students, faculty, and staff to join us in what has become known as the "Western Experience" - an opportunity to contribute to a better world through the development of new knowledge, new abilities, new connections, and new ways to make a difference. **About Us**: The Faculty of Health Sciences is a large, diverse, and comprehensive unit, comprised of six Schools (Nursing, Kinesiology, Health Studies, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Communication Sciences and Disorders), a large Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and four Research Centre’s. The faculty has more than 3,200 undergraduate students and more than 800 graduate students (200 PhD students). The Arthur Labatt Family School of Nursing educates nurses who are reflective practitioners and provides recognized leadership in nursing research, theory, practice, and policy advancements. Our research programs seek to develop knowledge capable of enhancing health equity by transforming practice, services, education and policies that affect health and wellbeing across the lifespan. Research programs reflect 5 overlapping areas of strength: Women’s Health; Violence, Gender and Health; Digital Health; Mental Health; and Global and Indigenous Health. **Course Information**: The focus remains on clients and families in acute care environments. Attention will be given to the social, physical, and biological determinants of health. Students will deepen their understanding of how: - acute illness develops and is manifested - nurses can care for and promote the health of clients - families influence the health of clients and nursing care Consideration will be given to issues of social justice for clients with acute health challenges. **Responsibilities**: You will be responsible for all activities associated with the successful delivery of the course, including but not limited to: developing, preparing, and delivering the course; setting and marking examinations, assessing the academic work of students, and reporting grades. **Qualifications**: In accordance with the Faculty Collective Agreement, consideration of applicants will include an assessment of previous performance, experience, and qualifications, including qualifications which go beyond the requirements for the position.
