**Server : Front of House**

**Reports to General Manager, Assistant Manager and / or Supervisor**

**The primary role of the FOH Server is to provide quality product in a fast, friendly and efficient manner. Servers have solid knowledge and familiarity with all Smitty’s products, systems and programs, which upholds Smitty’s standards and effectively promotes the brand name in every way.**

**ROLE and RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Greet customers as soon as they walk in the door
- Provide fast, friendly and efficient service
- Approach guest tables equipped with menus, coasters, and daily specials
- Demonstrate familiarity with the entire menu, specials and promotions
- Ensure that restaurant side stations and Servery are stocked and fully prepared for business
- Maintain cleanliness throughout your shift, which includes bussing and pre-bussing tables, emptying garbages,

and emptying the dish cart
- Ensure food is run from kitchen to table in a timely manner
- Ensure food is hot, and accurately plated and prepared
- Assist other Servers in their duties, as time allows
- If a bill is up regardless of who it belongs to, RUN IT.
- Regularly check the washrooms throughout your shift; refill supplies and clean the area as required

**RELEVANT SYSTEMS**
- 1. Smitty’s Product Knowledge (Portions and Standards)
- Opening / Closing Duties
- Daily / Weekly Cleaning Lists
- Prep, Production, Stock
- Waste
- WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Material Information System)
- MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet)
- Table Map / Floor plan

**QUALIFICATIONS for SERVER**
- Experience as a hostess
- Genuinely enjoy interacting with people
- Willingness to be flexible
- Possesses a professional manner and appearance
- Committed to contributing in a team environment
- Friendly
- A positive, energetic and enthusiastic attitude
- Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment
- Willing to work shifts, evenings, weekends and holidays
- Effective time management skills
- Trustworthy
