Intragrad partners with childcare centres across the GTA looking for students for both the Summer and Longer term to support as childcare assistants.

We are looking for students actively studying Childcare or related programs or students of other study fields who have experience of working in a proper childcare environment.

ROLE and RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

- Actively engaging in educational activities
- Assist in planning schedules and activities
- Greeting parents and children
- Check in / check out of students
- Use of appropriate systems to document all activities
- Supervising children
- Comforting children and ensuring they feel included, loved, and appreciated
- Managing children’s personal belongings
- Maintaining order and cleanliness in all areas of the classroom
- Make sure children are clean and presentable
- Maintain highest standard of sanitization (including body and furniture)
- Organization of classroom (toys, supplies, etc)
- Administer First - aid if necessary
- Maintain behaviour log and report all issue to appropriate supervisor
- Assist children during meal and snack time
- Be studying Childcare or a related program at a university or College
- Be passionate about children and working in a classroom environment
- Have high energy
- Demonstrate reliability and commitment
- Have experience with ages 1 to 5 years old
- Have excellent communication skills
- Work well within a classroom team
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels with children, coworkers, and parents
- Have the ability to utilize with appropriate software systems for all documentation, reporting, and classroom operations
- Participate in team meetings and workshops
- Demonstrate a supportive attitude, and ability to provide emotional, physical, or behavioural support to children
- Be highly organized, with a strong attention to detail
- Be a strong collaborator and team player
- Demonstrate the ability to take initiative in and out of the classroom
- Have strong problem-solving skills
- Be proactive in relation to health and safety

Other key requirements:

- TB vaccination proof
- Vulnerable sector checks
- CPR
- First Aid

This position will provide rich learning experience and the opportunity to grow and enhance your skills.

Wage: $17 - $18 per hour

Tuition incentive: $1,000 towards your tuition for every 500 hours you work with this employer. Start: Immediate

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract, Casual, Seasonal, Internship / Co-op
Part-time hours: 20-40 per week

**Salary**: $17.00-$18.00 per hour
