Filamat Composites Inc. is part of Zurn Elkay Water Solutions, a large organization with worldwide expertise in storm water treatment and wastewater pre-treatment solutions. Filamat manufactures fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) products and custom-engineered composite solutions in the fields of storm water, municipal water & wastewater, mining and solvent extraction, chemical processing, air treatment and pulp and paper. - Responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all manufacturing operations of production, shipping/receiving, machinery, processing, and packaging departments.
- Develops priorities based on production introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials.
- Makes recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations.
- Creates schedules and staffing requirements based on determined priorities.
- Establishes manufacturing and quality control standards and develops budget controls and plans.
- Coaching & mentoring of direct reports (Production Supervisors & others as required)
- Makes recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations
- Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Partner with the Plant & Engineering Manager to drive continuous improvement initiatives (Zurn Elkay Business System (ZEBS)) on the plant floor
- Provide key input to the facility capital planning, capital appropriations request, & implementation processes
- Close interaction with plant team including Operations, Quality, Materials, and Safety
- Supports the annual budget process for the facility fiscal budget; estimates staffing, and capital equipment needs based upon recent trends and planned activities; monitors expenditures after budget adoption; approves requisitions for purchase of materials or supplies
- Participates in the interviewing and hiring of new staff; prioritizes, assigns and reviews work, approves time off for payroll purposes, and prepares employee performance evaluations
- Work with but not limited to Customer Care, Procurement, Production, Quality, and Outside Processing to help meet On Time Delivery and Inventory Availability objectives.
- Deliver orders to production floor and expedites to various departments when needed to help meet customer demand.
- Assist floor personnel with order fulfillment issues or questions.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent combination of education/experience required (Mechanical/Industrial Engineering preferred)
- at least six years of related experience, including supervision of direct reports of the Supervisor level
- Excellent people skills with ability to maintain internal and external relationships.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
- FRP (Fibreglass Reinforced Plastic) experience is highly preferred
- Experience in Unionized environment highly preferred
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing/Continuous Improvement (CI) methodology/tools (Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5 Why, etc.) highly preferred
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required.
- Highly developed & demonstrated problem solving skills
- Project Management experience with the ability to manage multiple projects with little or no supervision.
- Organized with high attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to communicate with all levels of a corporation.
