**Hybrid Work Model**

SLC Management operates in a hybrid environment with a mix of in-office and virtual work where our employees are empowered to do their best. Generally, employees are expected to work three days in-office each week with flexibility depending on their business, client and team needs.

**About the role**:
The primary role will be to support the IIC (International Investment Centre) in maintaining its monitoring, performance reporting and research of investment managers used by the various SLF businesses. The role will also be supporting the various ESG (Environment, Social, and Governance) projects that IIC is involved in across the organization.

Core tasks include but are not limited to the following:

- Analyze due diligence and monitoring questionnaire responses and follow-up as necessary
- Conducting in-depth research on ESG topics and joining collaboration meetings within the organization to share knowledge and expertise
- Attend meetings with external managers and write notes
- Analyze asset class and investment performance results utilizing attribution and risk measurement techniques to explain portfolio performance variations from benchmark performance and/or peer universe performance
- Support IIC staff in investment manager searches
- Create content for various investment reports
- Help maintain various databases/software that the IIC uses
- Participate in projects and initiatives, as assigned

**What will you do?**
- Add value through on-going monitoring of investment managers, deliver quarterly questionnaires to the managers; analyze responses and follow-up as necessary
- Analyze asset class and investment performance results utilizing attribution and risk measurement techniques to explain portfolio performance variations from benchmark performance and/or peer universe performance
- Work with consultant in conducting research on various ESG topics and deliver/present written reports to internal clients
- Review investment strategies globally; identify value propositions, performance drivers and provide opinion via a detailed written report
- Create content for various investment reports, i.e. economic commentary, manager profiles, and review of investment options and recommend improvements to investment reporting content
- Research investment managers, products and industry trends, and complete reports and assist IIC consultants in presenting findings to the various committees. May be involved in other projects

**What do you need to succeed?**
- University degree in business or equivalent.
- 2-3 years of experience in the investment industry
- Strong technical and analytical skills; ability to distil information from a wide and complex variety of sources; experience working with both quantitative and qualitative information
- Natural curiosity and a desire to learn
- Passion for research
- Understanding of capital markets and asset class fundamentals, asset allocation, portfolio construction, and risk management
- Knowledge of investment managers, investment styles and methodologies

**Preferred Skills**:

- Enrolment in or completion of a professional designation (i.e. CFA, MBA)
- Familiarity with third party analytical tools (Morningstar Direct, Mercer Insight, Bloomberg or similar)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, experience presenting in front of leadership teams is an asset

**Unique Requirements**:

- Unscheduled evening work will be required. When working with Asian businesses, conference calls are generally conducted outside of normal business hours
