**About the Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain Operations, the Procurement Manager is responsible to lead a team of thirteen (13) senior buyers and one (1) assistant manager in supporting the procurement of all goods and services across Nova Scotia Health Central zone. Responsible for ensuring development and coaching of the Procurement team.
The Procurement Manager provides support for the ongoing development and delivery of high quality, provincially integrated health programs and services that are based on provincial standards of care, efficient, sustainable, safe and responsive to the needs of Nova Scotians.
The Procurement Manager has zone level responsibility for the following corporate programs and services: purchasing, HealthPRO, contract compliance and relationship management, as they relate to the NSH supply chain service and customers.
You will work closely with internal customers and vendors to monitor performance and share KPI’s with our Leadership Team for development and continuous improvement of the supply chain team’s capabilities.
Using a “people and client first” approach, the manager will support current and emerging technologies (SAP, GHX, TECSYS) and practices to establish a robust people focused and service excellence culture across the province.
**About You**:
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Undergraduate degree in a related field is required.
- Minimum of Five (5) years' management experience with directing and overseeing the supply chain activities within a large scale organization is required.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Recognized Professional Supply Chain Designation (CPP/SCMP) is an asset
- Strong leadership skills.
- Coaches and motivates team members to optimize team effectiveness.
- Excellent communication skills along with strong financial, conceptual and analytical skills.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to organize, control and coordinate a variety of activities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent planning and organization skills.
- Possesses a solid understanding of supply chain process and key performance indicators
- Experience with, and a high understanding of IT-driven supply chain
- Ability to delegate issues to team leads and staff
- Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in working with health care practitioners
- Occasional travel to other sites or throughout the province is required (primarily same-day travel)
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

**Compensation and Incentives**:
$37.66 - $47.07 Hourly
