**Responsibilities**:

- The primary responsibility of the Early Childhood Assistant (ECA) is to support the RECE in planning and implementing a program and daily activities
- Works cooperatively as a team member, encourages others to do likewise, and consistently maintains a positive attitude.
- Report any issues or concerns that may arise in accordance with proper procedures.
- Supports the direction and participate with children in all planned activities.
- Use well-developed interpersonal, and relationship-building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members, staff, and parents.
- Maintains the cleanliness of the classroom
- Maintain documentation, reporting and record keeping
- Programming must be child directed, and teacher supported in accordance with YTA’s “How Does Learning Happen” guidelines
- Support children within the classrooms emotional, physical, or behavioural problems and help develop their social, emotional, cognitive and physical skills
- Maintain attendance, and health and safety checks
- Support children through transitions in and out of the classrooms
- Meet all classroom ratios as outlined in CCEYA
- Ability to utilize YTA’s computer system for all documentation, reporting, and classroom operations

**Qualifications**:

- Standard First Aid CPR C.
- Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Immunization up to date (including a 2 step TB test & Covid-19 Vaccination).
- Any other documents required for regulations under CCEYA.
- Confident and flexible in working with all age groups (Toddler and Preschool).
- Ability to manage children with challenging behaviours and communicate effectively with parents. Ability to lift children up to 5 years.
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Confident and flexible professionalism

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $17.60 per hour
