**Job Type: Regular Part-Time 3 days a week/21-hour, (potential to increase to 5 days a week**)

**Start Date**: ASAP **Salary**: $25 - $32 per hour

Our Licensed Home Child Care Program offers regulated, home-based child care focused on quality, safety, and nurturing caregiver-child relationships. We are currently seeking a dedicated **Home Child Care Coordinator** to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to support our vibrant and inclusive child care community, while promoting a learning environment that reflects our philosophy and organizational values.

**Job Summary**:
**General Responsibilities**:

- Identify and select licensed home child care providers through home assessments, ensuring suitability in alignment with agency criteria, the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), and other relevant legislation.
- Advertise for new providers and complete all required documentation, including reference checks.
- Organize orientation and training sessions for providers; provide guidance on program standards, resources, and emergency backup procedures/equipment.
- Support and advise providers as Independent contractors in meeting and maintaining all elements of their business
- Monitor the quality of child care and compliance with regulations through regular scheduled and unscheduled home visits.
- Conduct home inspections to ensure health, safety, and legislative compliance.
- Arrange and manage emergency backup care; assist families and providers in urgent situations or conflicts.
- Support the placement and ongoing care of children with extra support, including facilitating assessments and connecting with external support services.
- Report all serious occurrences in accordance with legislation and agency policies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, statistics, and reports.

**Work Procedures**:

- Conduct regular evaluations of care programs and provider homes, ensuring programs meet developmental, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Provide coaching to providers, demonstrating developmentally appropriate activities as needed as well as mentoring providers in behaviour guidance strategies and healthy daily practices
- Review and update child care plans, maintain communication with supervisor on complex cases.
- Track inventory of toys and supplies, submit requests for replacements, and deliver supplies as necessary.
- Submit monthly statistics and reports to relevant bodies
- Attend meetings, agency events, and community engagement opportunities.
- Liaise with external agencies (e.g., Public Health, community support services) to coordinate child and family support.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**:

- Graduate of an approved Early Childhood Education (ECE) program
- Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing
- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Certification
- **Experience &Skills**:

- Minimum 2 years of experience in licensed child care
- Strong knowledge of CCEYA, municipal, and agency policies
- Ability to assess provider suitability, handle emergency/crisis situations, and resolve interpersonal conflicts
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage workload, and maintain detailed records
- Strong interpersonal, mediation, and communication skills
- Ability to lift and transport moderately heavy items such as toys and equipment
- Willingness to travel and work irregular hours if required
- **Other Requirements**:

- Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
- Comfortable visiting various neighborhoods and apartment complexes
- Working knowledge of child care legislation and community support resources
