As we continue to expand across North America, we are seeking a skilled Financial Controller to join our finance team. This role is essential in ensuring financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and compliance as we drive forward in our mission to enhance our online presence and retail operations.
**Role Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
1. Financial Operations Management:
- Oversee daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash flow management.
- Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported in compliance with GAAP and other financial regulations.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure operational efficiency.
2. Financial Reporting and Compliance:
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, reports, and forecasts for senior management and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, audit requirements, and other financial standards.
- Support external and internal audit processes, providing documentation and analysis as required.
3. Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Lead the preparation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and financial planning processes.
- Analyze financial data to monitor budget performance and recommend corrective actions to achieve financial targets.
- Provide insight and analysis on cost-saving initiatives and areas for financial optimization.
4. Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a growing finance team, fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support overall business performance and decision-making.
- Act as a financial advisor to department heads, providing financial insights and ensuring adherence to financial policies.
5. Capital Management:
- Manage cash flow and working capital requirements to support operational needs and growth initiatives.
- Assist in managing relationships with financial institutions, ensuring access to necessary financial resources for business expansion.
6. Process Improvement and Strategy:
- Continuously evaluate and improve financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide strategic recommendations to senior management based on financial analysis and trends.
- Support financial modeling and business cases for new projects or investments.
**Qualifications**:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration. CPA designation is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in financial management, with a strong focus on retail, e-commerce, or related industries.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, and managing daily financial operations.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and financial management software (e.g., ERP systems).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
