- Reporting to a Regional Manager, the Facility Team Leader will be responsible for delivering property management services to facilities within a designated TDSB Learning Centre. _
- The Facility Team Leader will: _
- _Provide leadership and direction to head caretakers, lead hands, caretakers and trades staff; _
- _Act as single point of contact for schools regarding Plant Operations issues; _
- _Ensure schools and centres are safe, clean and well-maintained, and ensure plant equipment is free from interruptions and unscheduled downtime, in compliance with engineering standards and building regulations; _
- _Manage budgets related to TDSB facilities (schools, administrative centres) and plant equipment, ensuring they are properly maintained; _
- _Ensure community partnership and liaison is maintained with all who use TDSB facilities, including students, parents, staff and the community; and _
- _Work closely with other Team Leaders and Plant Operations staff to ensure seamless services and ensure services are provided in a timely and cost-effective manner. _

**Summary of Duties**:

- Supervise the daily operations within the property management function of a designated number of buildings, utilizing the Single Point of Contact methodology;
- Determine client requirements through meetings with principals and superintendents, including identifying and prioritizing minor site-funded improvements;
- Establish school leadership teams to proactively address issues related to Plant Operations ;
- Liaise with head caretakers, caretakers and trade staff to ensure schools and centres are clean, safe and well-maintained;
- Ensure service and maintenance needs are identified and addressed in a timely and cost-effective manner;
- Responsible for the supervision and training of staff, including leadership, motivation and facilitating team building to improve productivity;
- Participate in the development and facilitation of professional development programs for staff;
- Participate in interviews and make recommendations in the hiring of staff;
- Prepare performance reviews and evaluations, provide solutions to enhance performance, and determine disciplinary action where appropriate;
- Respond to and resolve labour relations issues, in accordance with collective agreement provisions, policies and procedures, and in consultation with Employee Services;
- Schedule custodial work;
- Supervise scheduling and completion of preventive maintenance and minor maintenance duties, utilizing the SAP PM work order management system;
- Oversee the operation of building systems, including mechanical/electrical systems, building automation systems and energy conservation measures;
- Report on conditions, activities and problems to management, and respond to emergency situations
- Monitor all building service contracts within a designated region to ensure maximum effectiveness and adherence to specifications;
- Coordinate a building service repair program in the designated area with trades staff and maintenance team leaders;
- Ensure compliance with preventive maintenance program and ensure applicable work processes are documented and followed;
- Evaluate processes, equipment and supplies;
- Ensure appropriate standards are developed and followed for continuous improvement and quality initiatives in service delivery;
- Conduct site visits to monitor and evaluate work process effectiveness and inspect work to ensure the outcome meets objectives;
- Make recommendations for improvements to plant equipment and systems;
- Respond to inquiries from both within and outside TDSB, including questions and concerns raised by the community;
- Manage operating budget, including monitoring expenditures, investigating variances and analyzing monthly expenditure reports;
- Conduct effective meetings, establish networks for information-sharing, and prepare reports to various stakeholders;
- Negotiate service levels, resources and commitments;
- Participate on various Plant Operations and Board-wide committees (e.g., health and safety, staffing, energy management);
- Promote safe work practices to ensure health and safety of staff and students, in compliance with applicable legislation (e.g., Occupational Health and Safety Act and Workplace Safety and Insurance Act);
- Provide leadership in fostering equity and inclusiveness in the development and implementation of programs and services; and
- Other duties as assigned.
- Three year community college certificate in a relevant discipline and certification in a recognized property management program (e.g., F.M.A., C.P.M.), with six years of relevant experience within a large multi-site, multi-union environment in a property manag
