**The Location**: Grand River Foods is based in Cambridge, Ontario. Our location is commutable from a number of cities in the region: Kitchener, Waterloo, Brantford, Guelph, and Woodstock.

**Job Overview**:
**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Create, maintain and update the Supplier Quality program
- Support addition of new suppliers through the process
- Create, maintain and update supplier files
- Letters of Guarantee (LOG)
- Third-party GFSI audit information
- Supplier questionnaires
- Allergen risk assessments
- CFIA and FDA information
- 24-hour contact lists
- Country of Origin status
- Claims (organic, halal, kosher, gluten free, etc.)
- Partner with QA leadership and Supply Chain in the execution of supplier risk mitigation plans for critical suppliers
- Conduct and guide supplier assessments/audits
- Develop current and projected work statements
- Lead and establish the basis for recovery, corrective, and preventative action plans
- Communicate supplier and organization performance plan risks, issues, and opportunities to stakeholders
- Develop and execute work movement plans
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:
**Skills and Abilities**:

- Good interpersonal and administrative leadership skills
- Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the use of electronic quality management systems
- Excellent organizational and decision-making skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy of information
- Positive attitude and professional approach with the willingness to learn
- Ability to take initiative and work independently with mínimal supervision
- Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
- Proven ability to work effectively as a team member
- Able to build and foster relationships both internally and externally
- Able to provide sound judgement when assessing compliance risks
- Strong analytical, problem-solving abilities
- Able to prioritize multiple obligations and manage time effectively
- Excellent work ethic and attendance/punctuality
- Ability to complete Supplier Evaluations to assess quality, risk, and performance

**Education**:

- University degree or college diploma in Food Science, Microbiology, or related discipline
- Advanced knowledge of food safety systems and regulations (ie. SFCR, HACCP, FSEP, BRC, GFSI, etc)

**Experience**:

- A minimum of 5 years' experience within the Food Industry (meat/poultry/food preferred) in a GMP environment
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a supplier management program
- Quality Assurance experience in a food manufacturing facility
- Experience developing and supporting a vendor evaluation system
- Experience completing supplier audits and completing relevant documentation

**Work Conditions**:

- Occasional overtime, weekend work, and other shifts as required
- Occasional work on the plant floor, in a chilled and wet environment
- Exposure to typical office environment, with significant desk, phone and computer work
