**Role Overview**

Reporting to the Student Services Manager, the Career Services Coordinator is a critical role in supporting students’ career development by providing comprehensive career advice, practicum placement and internship coordination, as well as facilitating an ongoing connection to campus and community resources. This position requires a strong understanding of career development principles, knowledge of industry trends, and the ability to help guide students in achieving their career goals and beyond.

**Responsibilities**

**Career Advising**:

- Provide personalized career counseling to help students explore various career paths, understand their strengths and interests, and set achievable career goals.
- Conduct comprehensive career assessments aiding students in making informed decisions about their future.
- Offer expert advice on resume and cover letter writing, job search strategies and interview techniques to establish preparation for the job market.
- Develop and implement career development programs that expose students to their field of interest and assist them in formulating a clear and actionable career plan.

**Internship Coordination**:

- Collaborate with employers, faculty, and industry partners to create meaningful internship opportunities that align with students’ career aspirations.
- Manage practicum placements, ensuring compliance with program requirements and facilitating effective communication between students and employers.

**Industry Trends and Networking**:

- Stay current on employment trends and relevant industry developments to provide students with current career advice.
- Build and maintain relationships with employers, alumni, and industry professionals to create networking opportunities for students.
- Organize career fairs and networking events to establish connections for students with potential employers or internship opportunities.

**Campus and Community Engagement**:

- Work in collaboration with campus departments and community organizations to promote career related events and resources.
- Develop and deliver workshops and seminars on career development, professional skills, and job search strategies.
- Serve as the liaison between students and various campus and community resources ensuring maximum student support.

**Data Management and Reporting**:

- Maintain accurate records of student engagements, practicum and career service outcomes.
- Utilize database and tracking systems to monitor student progress from internship to career placement.
- Generate reports to assess the effectiveness of career services and inform future program development.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Counselling, Education, Human Resources, Career Development or a related field from an Accredited Institution.
- Previous experience in career counselling, advisory services or related student services role preferred.
- Demonstrated and proven track record of successful external stakeholder and industry engagement.
- Ability to maintain and build relationships.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse student populations, faculty, staff and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and career services software/platforms.
