**The Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Director, Council & Administrative Services/Regional Clerk, this exciting opportunity would be well suited for an enthusiastic, creative, and collaborative self-starter who thrives in an environment of innovation and change.
**Duties/Responsibilities**:
- Supervise Information & Privacy Analysts, technicians, and students.
- Administer contracts with consultants and vendors.
- Provide expertise and advice to the corporation and Council.
- Supervise the corporate electronic and non-electronic information management program, including overseeing the creation, maintenance, transfer, retrieval and disposal of records.
- Supervise policies, strategies, and processes to ensure corporate compliance with legislation/requirements.
- Supervise freedom of information responses and appeals and prepares annual reports to be submitted to the province.
- Assist clients with privacy breaches and incidents, and reports to the privacy commissioner as required.
- Supervise the day-to-day operation of the corporate electronic document management system.
- Identify, evaluate, and recommend enhancements, and implement practices to protect information assets.
- Supervise advisory and training services and maintain records on privacy impact and threat risk assessments.
- Provide recommendations on policy development and department-specific requirements.
- Coordinate plans and activities with clients.
- Supervise/perform policy and legal compliance reviews and audits.
- Supervise and provide advice on projects, strategies, and initiatives, including emergency planning and disaster recovery.
- Review, identify and analyze the impact of emerging legislation on the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information.
- Administer program budget, approve the purchase and cheque requisitions, and prepare and administers service contracts.
- Respond to inquiries and complaints from the public, businesses, and organizations regarding freedom of information requests and access to information issues.
- Chair working groups (e.g., privacy advisory committee).
- Knowledge and skill normally acquired through a related university degree (e.g., information studies, archival studies, public administration) plus progressively responsible related experience.
- Knowledge of records and information management systems, theories, practices, and procedures, and related information technology.
- Ability to oversee day-to-day maintenance of the corporate electronic document management system, design and customize systems, understand technological systems and information/protection, and operate help desk tools.
- Knowledge of and ability to comply with policies, procedures, related by-laws and legislation and collective agreements.
- Knowledge and understanding of municipal organizational structures, systems, and services.
- Analytical, project management, research, and continuous improvement skills.
- Leadership, human relations, communications skills and political acuity to supervise, train, develop, motivate, and support staff.
