We are currently seeking motivated, experienced **Cellar workers** for our Kelowna winery in the beautiful Okanagan Valley. Our Winery is in the heart of Kelowna between downtown and Knox Mountain, Calona Winery has the distinction of being British Columbia's original winery. The Cellar Workers report directly to the Cellar Supervisor/Manager and are responsible for the following duties:
- Following work tickets to accomplish specified wine making tasks.
- Transferring wine volumes throughout Cellars
- Unloading wine delivery trucks
- Cleaning work areas
- Other related duties as assigned by the Cellar Manager.
Duties include complete cellar procedures including grape crush, barrel work, sanitation, fermentation, transfers, blending, heat exchanging, pasteurization, carbonation, filtration, storage, housekeeping, and any other related duties, in all sections of the department. Ownership of equipment performance and product quality. Ensuring a safe and healthy work environment through participation and support of the Health & safety Program, joint H&S committee (if applicable) and compliance with EH&S regulations. The successful applicant should be able to work effectively with Supervisors and co-workers to maximize performance, quality, and safety initiatives. All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must be willing to work all shifts (day, afternoon, or night shifts) and work under mínimal supervision. Some work may occur in cold, damp conditions, and sometimes at heights. Capable of performing all duties with a sense of urgency and with a positive, team-oriented approach. Able to lift up to 50 lbs. The successful applicant should be able to work effectively in a team environment to maximize safety, quality, and efficiency initiatives.
Hourly Rate Range: $24.72
This is a union position and the rate of pay and conditions of employment are outlined in the Service Employees International Union Local 2 Branch Local 300 (SEIU Local 2 Branch Local 300) Collective Agreement.
