Astellas Pharma Canada (APCA) is currently searching for a **Global Brand Communications Specialist.**
**Description**:
This role supports Global Priority Brand Communicators in delivering impactful, timely, and compliant communications for key regulatory milestones, data announcements, and scientific congresses. The position also plays a key role in issues management for priority brands and brand team engagement.
**Essential Job Duties**:
**Regulatory Milestone Communications**
Support the development of global communication plans for regulatory milestones, including filings, approvals, and label updates.
Coordinate with global, regional, and local teams to ensure consistent messaging and timely dissemination of accurate and compliant materials.
Draft and refine core message frameworks, Q&As, and internal announcements to align with regulatory updates and business objectives.
**Data Announcements & Scientific Congresses**
Assist in the development and execution of global communication strategies for key data announcements and scientific congresses.
Work cross-functionally to ensure aligned messaging, content development, and timely distribution of communications.
Develop and adapt core messaging, Q&As, and internal updates to support data releases and congress activities.
**Issues Management**
Monitor and support the identification and management of communication risks related to priority brands.
Draft holding statements, core message frameworks, Q&As, and response protocols to manage emerging issues effectively.
Ensure communications align with regulatory, compliance, and ethical standards, working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
**Cross-Functional Collaboration**
Serve as a key point of contact for the Global Commercial Communications Network, ensuring seamless execution of brand communications.
Collaborate with Corporate, R&D Communications, and Investor Relations to align brand and TA-related messaging.
**Required** **Qualifications**:
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Communications, Public Relations, Life Sciences, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare communications.
Strong understanding of regulatory processes, clinical data communication, and industry compliance requirements.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to simplify complex scientific concepts.
Experience working in a global, matrixed environment is highly desirable.

Proven ability to lead and execute global or multi-market brand communication strategies in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
Strong business acumen and experience aligning communications with commercial objectives in a regulated environment.
Expertise in coordinating stakeholders across time zones, functions, and cultural backgrounds.
**Strategic & Data-Driven Communications**
Ability to translate complex scientific and medical data into clear, engaging, and compliant messaging.
