**We are excited to be recruiting for a few exciting positions at The Wood Tavern/Pauline’s Bistro, located inside the Norwood Hotel.**
- 2 Part Time Host/Hostess
- 1 Part Time Server
The Norwood has always been an innovative leader in the hotel industry. The Norwood Hotel has an interesting and diverse history dating back to the latter part of the 1800’s. The earliest records available indicate a photograph of the hotel in 1895. In 1937, the Hotel came under the ownership of the late Merle Sparrow and has been operated by the Sparrow family ever since. This longevity in ownership makes the Norwood the oldest operated family hotel in Manitoba and one, if not the oldest in all of Western Canada.
**Duties - HOST**:
- Responsible for dining room knowledge -be aware of all tables and seat numbers.
- Conducts guest seating.
- Answers restaurant telephone.
- Makes reservations. Transfers calls to Special Events Coordinator when appropriate.
- Takes room service and take-out orders.
- Ensures efficiency, timeliness, and professionalism at all times.
- Performs general cleaning duties for the restaurant & bar assists with bussing tables.
- Ensures expo line is set up to provide smooth meal service.
**Duties - SERVER**:
- Serves guests food and beverages within hotel standards with the guests’ needs and concerns placed first.
- Follows “Responsible service of alcohol” standards at all times with guest safety in mind.
- Utilizes up selling and suggestive selling techniques.
- Maintains upkeep in kitchen, including general cleanliness, stocking side stations & filling ketchup ramekins.
- Ensures efficiency, timeliness, and professionalism at all times.
- Runs food and beverages from the kitchen to the bar, ensuring prompt F&B delivery

**These positions are Part Time, and evening, weekend and holiday availability is required.**
**Job Type**: Part-time
**Salary**: From $14.15 per hour
Expected hours: 8 - 32 per week
Work Location: In person
