Global Convention Services is currently seeking a results-oriented individual to join our cross Canada team as an Operations Manager in Abbotsford, BC office.

**About the Role**

The **Operations Manager** is responsible for leading and overseeing event logistics, warehouse operations, and onsite execution of installations and dismantling. This role plays a critical part in ensuring seamless event operations. The Operations Manager will also focus on resource planning, staff supervision, and upholding safety and quality standards.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Event Execution & Onsite Operations**
- Lead, supervise, and actively participate in the installation and dismantling of event setups.
- Coordinate with clients to ensure service excellence and successful event execution.
- Represent **Global Convention Services Ltd.** in a professional and customer-focused manner.

**Warehouse & Inventory Management**
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including inventory tracking, forecasting, and maintenance of rental equipment.
- Collaborate with the Warehouse Supervisor and Account Manager to ensure event materials are prepped and ready in advance.
- Manage the loading and unloading of trucks, ensuring efficiency and safety compliance.
- Develop and maintain inventory control systems to optimize stock levels and reduce loss or damage.

**Team Leadership & Workforce Planning**
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of installers and warehouse staff.
- Provide coaching and guidance to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.
- Assign tasks, delegate responsibilities, and set clear expectations for team members.
- Approve timesheets and manage workforce scheduling based on project needs.

**Project Management & Coordination**
- Oversee logistics and resource allocation for multiple projects simultaneously.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and service delivery.
- Monitor project timelines, ensuring all operational milestones are met.
- Work collaboratively with the Account Manager and General Manager to align operations with business goals.

**Health & Safety Compliance**
- Ensure all Health and Safety policies and procedures are strictly followed onsite and in the warehouse.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and equipment maintenance checks.
- Train and enforce safety protocols among staff to minimize risks and hazards.

**Skills & Experience Required**
- Minimum **5 years of experience** in operations, logistics, or event management, with a strong background in team leadership.
- Proven ability to manage projects and oversee execution with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience working in a **fast-paced environment** with shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage client relationships effectively.
- Hands-on experience in warehouse and inventory management.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on event schedules.
- **Valid driver’s license** required; experience operating forklifts or other equipment is an asset.
