Home Caregiver, needed to assist with a physically disabled man's independent home care living needs in Victoria, B.C.

CNA or HCA Experience is an asset but we are willing to train.
He communicates with the assistance of a computer and therefore the care aide applicant should also have a sound working knowledge of computers; and being well-versed in the English language is a necessity.

Daily caregiving responsibilities expected of the support worker in assisting in his independent living needs include:
Medication: diabetes management (blood testing and insulin injections), and daily pills for maintaining standard of health
Communication: Familiarizing yourself with his unique methods of communication which include silent mouthing of letters to speak, and the use of his Speech Generating Device
Hygiene: assisting him on the commode, in the shower, brushing his teeth, shaving, and getting him dressed
Nutritional health: cooking and serving him meals in accordance with his gluten-free dietary restrictions
Housekeeping: washing dishes, doing laundry, taking out garbage and compost, and generally keeping a clean, safe work and living environment.

Interviews for the caregiving position will take place immediately, training and health care aide position to start as soon as possible.

Health Care Aide Applicant assets should also include but not be limited to: patience, knowledge of diabetes, cooking, light housekeeping, driver's license, a sense of humor and sound physical, mental and emotional health

Selected caregiving applicant will be offered 1-4shifts from 10am-6pm and 6pm-2am

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual
Part-time hours: 15 per week

**Salary**: From $22.50 per hour
