**About the Helper Role**
A general Helper supports the operations by assisting shop employees and maintenance of the by performing various manual tasks. This role involves cleaning and maintaining work areas, handling and transporting materials, operating machinery and equipment, assisting skilled tradespeople, following safety procedures, and performing general maintenance tasks.
**Responsibilities**:
- Assist fitters, welders, or painters as needed
- General assembly tasks
- Cleaning of the shop which will include but not limited to painting, drywall, sweeping, and general 5s tasks.
- Follow all plant safety guidelines, practices, and procedures. Ensure awareness of activity in the work surroundings and maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Perform general maintenance and repair of facility fixtures, machinery, and equipment.
- Perform carpentry, furniture assembly, as needed.
- Assist in services such as signage, cleaning, maintenance, parking lot, safety inspections, security, landscaping, and snow removal.
- Follow all Health and Safety procedures including but not limited to wearing the appropriate personal protective equipment, receiving training prior to operating equipment, and reporting any defects immediately.
- Ensure equipment is properly guarded and all safety features are in place appropriately.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to demonstrate strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow all Health and Safety requirements and wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to recognize and avoid all Health and Safety risks.
- Ability to effectively build relationships with customers and co-workers.
- Ability to work under pressure with time constraints.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $23.34-$26.41 per hour
