**Willowbrae Academy® Bayview Village** **Position Title**: Director's Assistant (1 Year Contract) The Director's Assistant job will consist of two parts, operations, and childcare. The Directors' Assistant will be hired by the Owner and Director of Operations to assist in the execution of Academy policy concerning admissions, operations, and programs. Under the direction and supervision of the Director, the Directors' Assistant is responsible for assisting in the coordination, supervision, and implementation of all aspects of the operation of the Academy. When the Director is absent it will be the sole responsibility of the Directors' Assistant to perform these tasks. The Directors' Assistant will also be responsible for the care, instruction and supervision of children infant to preschool age, under the direct supervision of the Director. The Directors' Assistant is responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the program. The Directors' Assistant is also required to perform other related tasks and duties assigned by the company. The Directors' Assistant position is required to perform some physical lifting of children and movement of equipment such as toys, cribs, sleeping cots, etc. The Directors' Assistant may also be required to be in the classroom for ratio. **Qualifications**: The Directors' Assistant of Willowbrae Academy is required to have a degree in Early Childhood Education and a minimum of three years relevant practical experience, including evidence of proficiency in administrative responsibilities. Current First-Aid certificate and a course in infant C.P.R. is also required as well as a clear vulnerable sector and criminal record check. **Responsibilities and Duties**: - communicate the goals and objectives of Willowbrae Academy to the community through information regarding the academy, registration, forms, and programs - refer parents to appropriate professionals and other resources as needed - provide tours of the Academy to new families - answer phone calls from current parents as well as parents inquiring about care - add children to our waiting list - assist in ordering food and supplies for the Academy **Program Management** - develop and implement the program through direction, participation, and ongoing evaluation - facilitate the management of children's programs and routines - arrange evaluation and programming for children with special needs - supervise the activities of the staff and to ensure that the children's individual needs are being met by the program - continually participate as a member of the team with others in the academy, including director, teacher's aides, substitutes, students, volunteers, and parents; respect each individual's ideas, opinions, and suggestions. **Staff Supervision** - delegate staff duties - communicate with staff daily, implement procedures for solving problems that may occur, respond to individual and group needs - make staff aware of changes in enrollment when they occur - inform staff on a daily basis of parental concerns regarding children - maintain personnel files - act as a resource for and work with staff members to ensure policy procedure and program needs are met **Health and Safety** - maintain current first aid training and infant C.P.R. - implement monthly practice procedure for fire and other emergencies. - assist in keeping a readily accessible and current list of phone numbers for contacting parents and emergency services. - monitor and replenish first aid supplies when used. - familiarize self with all safety rules and health practices regarding the academy and the children. **Guidance and Behavior Management** - follow Behavior Management Policy guidelines established by Willowbrae **Professionalism** - follow the philosophy of Willowbrae Academy program and be able to communicate its goals and objectives to others. - attend regular staff meetings for the purpose of program discussion, pre-planning, staff communication, and relations, individual child development assessment, and general business. - attend workshops, conferences and training sessions, and to join associations related to - keep all information pertaining to children, families, staff and the director confidential. **Why do you want to work for Willowbrae?** - Willowbrae is a fast-growing nationwide company expanding rapidly in BC, Alberta, Ontario, Manitoba and Nova Scotia. - Room for advancement and transfers to other Academies or provinces. - Comprehensive dental & health benefit package - Competitive wage packages - State of the art facilities equipped with the exclusive Braeview security technology. - All Academies have a professional cleaning crew that does not include you. - All meals are prepared in our in-house kitchen facilities. - Join a collaborative supportive environment.
