**Event Support Staff Multiple part-time, on-call positions**
**Position Scope/Summary**:The Confluence Historic Site & Parkland draws on a rich history to bring significance, character and beauty to the weddings, retreats, performances, parties, banquets and meetings hosted on this land. With more than 6,000 square feet of indoor space, 40 acres of outdoor space, and a variety of venues to choose from, The Confluence hosts hundreds of different events each year. We are recruiting enthusiastic and motivated event support staff to help create memorable event experiences at The Confluence. The role is on call to cover changing event requirements at The Confluence.
Shifts will be created as needed and communicated with as much notice as possible. Event support staff will play an important role in setting up, running and tearing down event spaces, greeting guests, and assisting guests and clients to help events go smoothly.
**Key responsibilities**
- Coordinating duties with the event team
- Setting up and tearing down event spaces — this includes stacking and moving chairs, tables and other large items as necessary
- Welcoming guests at events and ensuring they are being served
- Ensuring event venues are clean and organized at all times
- Addressing any customer queries and complaints during an event
- Ensuring that all safety standards and fire guidelines are followed Assisting with the set up and operation of audio-visual equipment
- Protecting all spaces and museum exhibits from event-related damage
- Opening and locking up before and after events
**Requirements**:
- Physically capable of lifting and carrying heavy items
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Keen eye for detail
- Ability to handle stressful situations
- Excellent multitasking skills
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Highly trustworthy and motivated
- Friendly and ready to provide excellent customer service
