**About the role**:You have the opportunity to work in two diverse programs. Your role in the Record Suspension program is to determine the eligibility for a Record Suspension, and to support individuals in obtaining the necessary documents required for submission to the Parole Board of Canada. Your Role in the Reintegration Program is to deliver structured individual and group programming and to assist clients with their reintegration in the community.
- Possess strong motivational interviewing skills, crisis and suicide intervention skills
- Experience and knowledge of Record Suspensions access and National Pardons Centre
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Understanding of, and experience working with, clients that struggle with multiple barriers (mental health, criminality, substance use, etc)
- Deliver services in a way that reflects the racial, cultural, linguistic, and gender specific needs of the community being served.
- Be adaptable, reliable, flexible and willing to work at multiple locations including some early evening work
- Ability to work and communicate effectively as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and effective time management
- Willingness to “do whatever it takes” attitude for client, and program success
**Minimal Requirements**
- Oral and written skills in English
- Social Science Degree or Community Diploma in Social Services with one to three years' experience in the field. Less education and more experience maybe considered
- Demonstrated communication skills, knowledge of the criminal justice system.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Record Suspensions (** Client Services, Community Liaison and Administration)**
- Develop a case plan for each client and encourage the use of community resources for assistance.
- Assist the agency in maintaining accessible, relevant, responsive, and quality services.
- Responsible to liaison with Ontario Works and other relevant agencies and stakeholders.
- Suspension process and associated payments, ensuring overall program efficiency
- Responsible for providing documents for the fee for service invoices.
**Reintegration Services**
- Interview clients, assess client’s problems, develop and implement support and intervention programs to assist clients
- Evaluate effectiveness of interventions and evaluate client’s progress in resolving identified problems and movement towards defined objectives
- Provide immediate crisis and suicide intervention supports
- Provide community and justice information, referral and practical support services

- Meet clients at community organizations and institutions to assist them in completing the record suspension process
