Payroll and Benefits Administrator

**Purpose**:
Process end to end payroll cycle. Ensure that employees are paid accurately and on time. Ensure that payroll procedures are in compliance with all relevant Federal and Provincial legislation and organizational policies. Provide basic group benefits administrative services.
**Main Responsibilities**:
- Prepare, distribute, collect, verify and process time sheets in close cooperation with all applicable managers.
- Process pay and benefits entitlements for employees of an assigned portfolio of clients on bi-weekly, semi-monthly and monthly payrolls.
- Process new hires and terminations including Group Benefits Administration and issuance of Record of Employment
- Process payroll and benefits related changes, including but not limited to, salary increases, change of position, changes in personal information (address, family status) etc.
- Prepare and process all government remittances and third-party requirements.
- Prepare, update and maintain records of vacation, personal and sick day status.
- Respond to any employee inquiries in a timely manner.
- Process WSIB remittances and claims.
- Prepare and process reports, including but not limited to:
- Payroll month end report including vacation accruals.
- Payroll Journal Entries
- Union dues.
- WSIB remittance.
- Prepare various reports for management as requested.
- Prepare manual cheques as needed.
- Prepare annual staffing budget reports as required
- Respond to any government or employee enquiry regarding pay or benefits.
- Filing and scanning of documents
- Any other duties as required
**Qualifications**:
Education
- College Diploma or University Degree
- National Payroll Institute Certification - PCP
Experience
- 3+ years of experience in payroll administration using Ceridian Dayforce or ADP WFN an asset.
- Processing multiple payrolls with different business numbers.
- Property Management experience an asset.
