Intermediate Environmental Scientist

Our dynamic team is growing, and we have a new opportunity for an Environmental Scientist with 3-5 years of experience to work in a multi-disciplinary team that solves complex issues for our clients throughout Northern Canada Territories. The position is one of three in the Remediation Program Management (RPM) team which has offices across Canada. This role will include the planning and preparation of two annual field programs, the participation in the field programs and the preparation of reports following each field program. **A day in the life**:

- You participate in a team environment, work closely with Project Coordinators, Project Managers, Senior Project Directors/Technical Leads and Field Technicians/Scientists/Engineers.

- Participate and be a member of a 25-person region-specific delivery team, while at the same time leveraging the experience and expertise of the entire RPM group.
- Mentoring junior staff in environmental practices including Phase I and II ESAs, drilling, surveying, groundwater sampling, oversight of remediation etc. as well as on site specific health and safety.
- Executing field in remote location during two field programs (winter and summer). During those field programs, you work in shifts of approximately two weeks on and two weeks holiday to a maximum of three shifts.

**What you'll bring to WSP**:

- University degree in engineering, or natural/earth sciences or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of field experience in contaminated site assessments and/or environmental industry.
- Experience working in remote location and/or camp setting, experience working in the territories is considered a strong asset.
- Sound understanding of the need for health and safety procedures in the workplace/Possess a safety conscious attitude.
- Strong field experience and willingness to work as a team in remote settings.
- Your technical ability to troubleshoot and brainstorm to ensure environmental data collected meet project objectives.
- Professional designation or a professional in training, is preferred.
