Maintenance Technician

The incumbent supports the manufacturing shop at ZOOK Canada by maintaining the equipment and infrastructure required by manufacturing processes.

Produces machined parts by setting up and operating manual machines; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies. Writing and interpreting instructions and procedures to assemble equipment and products accurately.

**The Millwright has the following duties & responsibilities**:

- Represents the company in a professional manner and adheres to all plant and safety rules
- Troubleshoots processes, sharpen, and replaces worn tools, and adheres to quality assurance procedures. Inspect and examine machinery to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions
- Produces work according to the required manufacturing standards, work order requirements, and safety standards and maintains safe operation by adhering to safety procedures and regulation
- Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and equipment such as pumps, press components, fans, furnaces, and compressors using hand and power tools
- Operate machine tools such as engine lathes, mills, and grinders
- Establish, implement and adjust preventative maintenance plans in coordination with department supervisors and the health and safety team. Work collaboratively to develop maintenance plans for new equipment and maintain PM system and records as required
- Studies work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
- Defines tooling, work-holding, and gauging operation according to drawing requirements.
- Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
- Communicate with supervisor and colleagues in a professional manner
- Maintain excellent attendance with the ability to work overtime when required
- Trains employees as required (Safety, Quality, Production, Computer and work order instruction)
- Attend all required meetings and training opportunities
- Any task or duties from your supervisor

**Required Skills / Qualifications**:

- At least 5 years Millwright experience required
- Certified/Licensed 433A Industrial Millwright preferred
- Mechanical Aptitude, Process Improvement, Verbal Communication, Functional and Technical Skills, Attention to Detail, Ability to work within a team
- CNC Machining experience is an asset
- High school diploma or GED

**Environment Factors**:

- Must wear all required PPE including steel-toed CSA-certified boots, safety glasses, earplugs, etc.
- Frequent movement including bending, twisting, reaching over, lifting up to 50 lbs, occasional climbing, dexterity, push/pull, vibration, and standing for long periods.
