**About the Position**:
Reporting to the VP, Construction, the Pre-Construction Manager is an active self-starter who expresses a sense of urgency and pride in their work. This role is responsible for supporting leadership in the daily management, supervision, coordination, and successful completion of the preconstruction phase of projects. The Pre-Construction Manager is accountable for providing thorough, accurate, and competitive estimates to facilitate construction design decisions.
**Key Functions and Responsibilities**:
- Provide thorough, accurate and competitive cost estimates through all phases of design from conception to construction and permit documents.
- Estimate and analyze alternate building systems to facilitate construction design decisions.
- Lead design development and working drawing meetings.
- Manage the preconstruction schedule, including tendering and city approvals.
**Required Skills and Abilities**:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate well with co-workers, subcontractors, and clients
- Self-motivated, organized, and detail oriented
- Ability to manage multiple projects leveraging sound project management skills
- Technical knowledge of high-rise, condominium construction and estimating
- Fiscal awareness
- Adept MS Office skills including Excel, Word, & Project
- Working knowledge of Bluebeam software
**Education and Experience**:
- Undergraduate degree in engineering, architecture, or equivalent
- 10+ years of construction experience
