Here’s what you’ll be doing in this unique volunteer role:

- Work closely with our Grant Committee to devise and execute an annual development plan/strategy aimed at enhancing annual grant revenue.
- Tailor grant proposals to foundations and grant-making entities, effectively communicating Westerner Parks’ mission and program potential.
- Prepare well-organized grant requests, including letters, proposals, budgets, and presentations.
- Keep the Manager of Corporate Services informed about grant research, submissions, and outcomes.
- Coordinate follow-up procedures for submitted proposals and ensure timely submission of all required materials.
- Establish and maintain a detailed proposal calendar to facilitate efficient workflow.
- Conduct diligent research to identify grant opportunities aligned with Westerner Parks’ objectives and goals.
- Maintain organized grant materials, documents, and progress records, including funds received, expenditures, and relevant funding milestones.
- Support grant writing tasks, including information gathering, proofreading, and submission processes.
- Provide assistance to stakeholders involved in grant-related activities.
- Research and identify new government, corporate, foundation, and provincial funding prospects.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information encountered during business operations.

- Previous Experience in Grant Writing is preferred but not required
- Ensure accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Proficiency in clear, precise, and compelling writing.
- Capable of working independently with precision and purpose.
- Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft 365 Suite.
- Ability to accommodate varying workdays as determined by the Manager of Corporate Services.
- The successful volunteer will be required to pass a satisfactory criminal background check.
