We are looking for caring and enthusiastic individuals to join a progressive non-profit organization as a Residential Support Worker, in part-time position working in an adult group home setting.

**Strive ensures the health and safety of all employees by acting with an abundance of caution and adhering to guidelines from the Ministry of Health, mandating regular safety training, and providing employees with access to personal protective equipment.**

**We are in need of part-time supports who have a BCDL Class 4 or 5 with reliable vehicles in Powell River.**

**The ideal applicant shall possess**:

- Knowledge and experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health concerns, and behaviours
- An understanding of the needs and barriers faced by individuals with various abilities
- Command of English language with ability to communicate effectively and complete daily documentation
- Ability to understand and follow health care plans, personal protocols, schedules, and activities
- Ability to follow policies and procedures, including health and safety policies
- An understanding of the difference between creating independence vs. creating dependence
- Competence to safely accompany/transport individuals to appointments and activities in the community
- Knowledge and experience with community resources, integration, and teaching life skills
- The physical ability to perform all the duties required of the position

**Job qualifications include (if you do not have all of these, but demonstrate you are a good fit for the position, Strive may be able to assist you to acquire some of these requirements)**:

- Class 4 or 5 BC Driver’s License required and clean driver’s abstract
- Minimum of 1-year experience (or combination of education and experience)
- Positive Behaviour Management
- Criminal Record Check
- Negative TB test
- First Aid and CPR
- Mandt Certificate
- Food Safe Certificate
- Other requirements that may be specific to the individual served.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Schedule**:**Wednesday 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Saturday 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Sunday 7:00 am to 5:00 pm (30hours)

**Start date**: May 27, 2025

**Compensation**:$25.95** per hour, plus benefits upon meeting eligibility requirements.
