Reporting directly to the Director of Community Services, the Community Resource Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating wellness programs and services that promote the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of senior adults within the community. This role involves collaboration with health professionals, community organizations, and senior participants to ensure inclusive and effective wellness initiatives.

**Primary Responsibilities**

**Program Development & Coordination**:

- Design and coordinate wellness programs, including fitness classes, nutrition workshops, mental health support, volunteer driving program, volunteer income tax program, monthly foot clinics, and chronic disease management.
- Organize social and recreational activities that enhance community engagement and reduce isolation among seniors.
- Organize, recruit and retain volunteers as required for programs and services.

**Volunteer Management**:

- Recruit, train, and retain volunteers to support program and service delivery.

**Community Engagement**:

- Serve as a liaison between seniors, caregivers, health providers, and community organizations.
- Conduct outreach to increase participation and engagement in wellness programs.

**Health Education & Support**:

- Organize educational materials and host workshops on aging-related topics such as fall prevention, medication management, and cognitive health.
- Monitor participant progress and provide referrals to health services as needed.

**Administrative Duties**:

- Maintain records of participant attendance and program outcomes.
- Prepare reports, record monthly program and service stats, track budgets, and assist in grant writing.

**Evaluation & Improvement**:

- Collect feedback and assess the effectiveness of programs and services.
- Adjust strategies based on senior needs and evolving best practices in senior wellness.
- Other duties as required or assigned.

**Position Qualifications**
- Post-secondary education in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation, Social Work or related field or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be considered.
- 2+ years of experience in senior services, health promotion, or community programming.
- Experience in staff/volunteer supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of aging-related health and wellness issues.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Valid Manitoba Driver’s License.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Criminal Reference Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid driver’s license & access to personal vehicle.
