The Shipping Lead is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day shipping function and supervising Shipping Associates, ensuring smooth operations of all shipping activities. This is a floor position and will involve physically moving/processing shipping materials in addition to leading the team.

In collaboration with Management, Sales and Operations, the role is responsible for meeting customer requirements, fulfilling furniture orders and ensuring timely delivery of products in accordance with quality, costs, dates, and customer service standards.

**Responsibilities**

Review sales orders, production schedules, and delivery schedules to plan and

schedule shipments ensuring shipping deadlines are met.

Acquire shipping quotes and manage costs efficiently.

Lead the shipping department by delegating and prioritizing work to the team,

acquiring/maintaining shipping and packing materials, organizing the preparation

of shipping materials, and adjusting packaging for large or custom shipments.

Train and coach new hires to ensure performance expectations are met.

Participate in the daily packaging process when necessary to meet deadlines

including building crates, pack, seal, and label materials to prepare for shipping.

Monitor shipping activities to ensure products being shipped are in perfect

condition.

Prepare accurate shipping documents in accordance with shipping deadlines.

Collaborate and communicate with shipping carriers and logistic providers to

ensure collection and delivery of shipments.

Keep track and provide status updates of outgoing shipments to relevant parties

(Management, Sales, customers, etc.)

Act as a point of contact for shipping carriers to manage shipping deadlines.

Troubleshoot and resolve complaints regarding damaged packages or shipping

errors and suggest methods for improvement.

Provide feedback at meetings and update shipping schedules as necessary.

Ensure health and safety is enforced in a manner that safeguards the protection

of staff and promotes prompt responses to health and safety concerns or

incidents.

Foster and maintain a continuous improvement environment through

communication and teamwork.

Perform other duties as assigned in order to meeting company goals.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $42,000.00-$46,800.00 per year

**Experience**:
