We are a not-for-profit home for women living with dementia in Richmond Hill. We offer a variety of programs, including day programs, music programs, walking programs and respite.

**Summary**:

- Assist a recreation therapist with delivery day program to clients. Activities include socializing, exercise, art, music, etc.
- Position starts as soon as possible. 9 weeks in total.
- $20.00/hour
- 30 hours per week

**Responsibilties**:

- To assist with the needs of the recreation therapist in leading programs for women with dementia.
- To develop connections and foster relationships with older adults with dementia.
- To assist in the creation of new program ideas.
- To assist in the development and management of the walking program.
- To lead activities related to music.

**Requirements**:
Must qualify under the Ontario Summer Job Program
- Age between 18 and 36 (inclusive)
- Registered as a full-time student during the preceding or the upcoming academic year
- A Canadian Citizen, permanent resident or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the immigration and Refugee Protection Act* and
- Is legally entitled to work according to the relevant/territorial legislation and regulations
- Willing to learn to work with individuals living with dementia
- Cheerful, energetic, patience and caring
- Have a minimum of 1 year dementia care experience (Lived or working)

Require the following documents:

- Vulnerable Sector check (police check)
- COVID-19 negative

**Job Types**: Part-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 9 weeks
Part-time hours: 30 per week

**Salary**: $20.00 per hour

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Richmond Hill, ON L4C 3S2: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
