Quality Control Production Technician

**General Accountability**:
Implement, monitor, and document quality initiatives as well as provide quality support for production and manufacturing departments under the direction of the QA & Process Improvement Supervisor. Perform a variety of routine to complex tasks including sampling, inspecting, record review and analyzing raw material, finished product, and work in progress for quality compliance withing Company and customer standards.
**Essential Functions**:
- Confirm that plant audit procedures are properly carried out and assigned work schedules are maintained
- Determine overall plant product quality by conducting and evaluating various product tests and tests related to raw material and packaging
- Resolve major quality problems at production facilities, warehouses, and customer as required
- Audit internal quality control system for compliance
**Duties**:
- Review shift schedule
- Verify Product Formula for Production
- Perform daily bench scale verification and weekly QA scale verification
- Inspect incoming packaging (jugs, pails, bags & boxes)
- Carry out incoming raw material inspection (bentonite & fragrances & additives)
- Place and log Hold Tags on non-conforming products (finished goods, raw materials and packaging)
- Carry out Finished Product Inspections
- Report non-conforming items to appropriate managers (Plant Mgr, Supervisor on shift)
- Ensure on-line quality checks are being performed properly and on a timely basis in accordance with Standard Operational Procedures and customer requirements
- Complete inspection and test reports
- Prepare test samples, set up and operate automated/manual laboratory instrumentation
- Investigate and troubleshoot quality equipments, procedural problems in conjunction with management
- Assist in investigating client complaints, find the root cause of the issue, and provide corrective actions
- Ability to operator production line(s) for relief purposes
- Assist in Scheduled Audits (Quality System Review, ISO9001)
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:
- At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing facility
- Good understanding of production, warehouse, and plant procedures
- Experience in reviewing quality documents (SOPs, protocols, technical reports, etc.) for consistency and compliance. ISO experience is preferred
- Previous experience working directly on QC improvement initiatives
- Must have exceptional computer skills including the Office Suite
- Must have excellent communication, analytical and attention to detail skills
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
- QA/QC post secondary education would be an asset
