**The Opportunity**:
**Responsibilities**:
- Completes and documents circle checks (pre & post trip) on a daily basis
- Reports any defects, deficiencies or repairs to the Warehouse Supervisor and is responsible for having any and all repairs completed in a timely manner
- Reviews shipping documents and organizes daily schedule as per customer needs and geographical locations
- Ensures that all paperwork such as tests reports & packing slips are in order for delivery to the customer
- Straps down product and ensures the loaded truck can facilitate efficient and safe off loading or re-builds load prior to leaving the facility
- Collects payment for material delivered as required
- Makes any pick ups required only when in receipt of paperwork or instruction from Ryerson Canada authorizing to do so
- Completes and maintains daily log and other paperwork as required
- Maintains good customer relationships
- Adheres to all safety policies including wearing Company provided PPE at all times when performing duties
- Informs General Manager of any apparent changes to customers, vendors, and/or competitors business activities that may affect Ryerson Canada
- Loads and unload trucks using forklifts and or/cranes
- General warehouse labour or other duties as assigned
**Skills & Qualifications**:
- High school diploma or GED is preferred
- 2-3 years of truck driving experience in all weather conditions
- Possess a valid Class 1 driving license with Air Brake endorsement (Q)
- Clean Driver’s Abstract; current driver’s abstract must be submitted
- Knowledge of truck loading capacities and trucking regulations
- Strong understanding of health and safety procedures relevant to the position, in compliance with the provincial regulations and the company’s policies
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75lb
- Knowledge of warehouse machine and equipment operations, e.g. overhead cranes, side loaders, forklifts
- Strong customer service orientation; effective oral and written communication skills
- Flat deck experience considered an asset
- General warehouse experience considered an asset
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $35.78 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
