Made In Canada Gifts is dedicated exclusively to artisanal gifts and home décor that are designed and/or crafted in Canada. We feature unique Canadian and indigenous art, Inuit carvings, contemporary jewellery, Canadian apparel (leggings, hoodies, T-shirts, socks etc.), home accent décor and tasty artisan foods. With 2 stores in Ottawa and a strong online presence, we serve Canadians and international visitors alike and will ship purchases to anywhere in the world.

We have traveled extensively throughout our country from Vancouver Island to the Avalon Peninsula and to numerous remote Inuit communities in the Canadian Arctic. **Who Are We Looking For?**

We are hiring a full-time Assistant Store Manager for our Bayshore Shopping Centre store in Ottawa.

- Key Responsibilities_
- Responsible for the daily operations of a busy retail store in a major shopping mall
- Generate sales and control expenses as guided by company management
- Assist in recruiting, training, coaching and directing store employees
- Attend to customers with enthusiasm, maturity, and strong product knowledge
- Maintain and enhance in-store product merchandising
- Assist with managing social media, company website and other marketing activities
- Receive and process shipments from product suppliers
- Order store supplies as required
- Prepare and perform bi-weekly bank deposits
- Occasional drop-off and pick-up of engraving orders
- Work as a team with company management and other employees
- Requirements_
- Experience in a retail leadership role in a professional retail environment
- Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge and/or strong interest in Canadian and Indigenous artisanal products
- Availability to work up to 40 hours per week
- University or college education

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $20.00 per hour
