This role is based in our Mississauga location, overseeing projects for Mississauga and Toronto location.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist with the development, implementation, and monitoring of Health and Safety policies, procedures, programs, H&S handbook and related projects/execution Plan (ex: RTO etc)
- Minimize or remove the risk of accidents, work-related illnesses and injuries in the workplace
- Perform regular job site H&S audits (internal)
- Work closely with site managers to implement policy and programs on site
- Compilation, updating and distribution of health and safety related documents as required
- Covid-19 monitoring and facilitating legal compliance protocols
- On site and WFH ergonomic initiatives, implement process to control hazards/ injuries and provide training/education to all employee’s as needed
- Lead Health and Safety Committees (JHSC) as a management representative
- Conduct H&S orientation of new hires; update and train existing employees, coordinate JHSC certification training as required; maintain complete and organized files
- Assist in developing and delivering required training programs as may be required by Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)
- Investigate workplace incidents or illnesses and assist management as required
- Ongoing liaison with WSIB/WCB, STD, LTD regarding rehabilitation, return to work plans, reporting all workplace injuries etc
- Maintain compliance with OHSA and related Federal, Provincial and local regulations
- Other H&S related tasks as needed

**What You Bring**
- Strong working knowledge of OHSA and related Federal, Provincial, and local regulations
- Post-secondary education in a related discipline preferred or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience
- Joint Health and Safety committee certified
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) is a strong asset
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, both oral and written
- Excellent safety reporting skills
- Previous experience with investigating, interviewing, documenting, and reporting incidents and accidents in a health & safety context is considered an asset
- Strong organizational skills, able to prioritize own work, multi-task and meet deadlines
- Be able to work within a team environment as well as work without supervision
- Proactive and resourceful, with a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn.
- Valid driver’s license required
- Travel to two work sites
