Junior Capture Technician

Clear Angle Studios is a company based in Mammoth Studios which covers all aspects of scanning for VFX, from full 360 character scanning in its multi camera systems, LiDAR scanning of sets and environments to high resolution multi bracketed texture acquisition.

We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our small but growing team here in Vancouver.

The Junior Capture Technician will assist our on-set capture teams in the 3D scanning of production assets using Clear Angle Studios’ character and prop scanning systems. The running of our systems, the capture of assets as well as capture of system reference data is a key part of this role.

You will have a good understanding of how Clear Angles Studios various systems are built, function and operate, and also a good knowledge of how data should be best captured.

**Responsibilities**:

- Building & running of our full body systems on set/location.
- Building & running of our prop scanning on set/location.
- Laser arm scanning of production props.
- Shooting prop textures & tiles specifically for VFX.
- The capture of system reference data.
- Following & updating shoot logging spreadsheets.
- Communicating with the system lead, making sure of an efficient and smooth shoot session.
- System maintenance and upkeep.

**Job Requirements**:

- An excellent basis of photography.
- A basic understanding of photogrammetry and 3D scanning techniques.
- An in-depth knowledge of the Windows operating systems.
- Meticulous data handling & attention to detail.
- Calm under pressure with good problem solving skills.
- A team player with excellent communication skills.
- Adaptable & flexible to schedule changes with a willingness to travel.
- Some knowledge of VFX use in films would be desirable.
- Full clean driving license & means of transportation is a must.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $40,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
