The Path2Work program is part of the JVS Toronto Disability Service programs, and is designed to help unemployed/underemployed individuals with developmental disabilities to prepare for paid employment opportunities.
We’re looking for an outgoing individual who will be part of the agency’s Workforce Specialist (WFS) team As a member of this team, your primary activities, relating to job development, will include liaising with employers and securing employment opportunities for clients. As a Workforce Specialist / Job Coach, you will provide strategies and supports which aid clients in becoming independent in the workplace.

**We’re looking for someone who will**:
- Provide job search assistance, job placement services, job coaching and job maintenance for adults with a developmental disability
- Support clients preparing for interview (modify and critique cover letters and resumes, mock interview, employer networking, arrange information interviews, job shadowing)
- Carry out job development using JVS Toronto’s consultative sales model including prospecting (cold calling), networking, employer needs analysis, features/benefits, and other EOPII job development and sales techniques. Applies knowledge of employment-related issues, adult learning approaches, accommodation analysis and appropriate intervention strategies to clients and employers
- Build productive ongoing relationships with potential employers for agency programs/clients, contacting employers using random and targeted lead generation approaches for current client job placement needs, and advocating on behalf of the client
- Meet client job placement and retention targets
- Provide job coaching to clients, assess client strengths and needs for job placement.
- Negotiate employment opportunities that meet both client and employer needs; arrange workplace tours and make recommendations for accommodations, if needed
- Follow up with employers and clients to support ongoing retention in employment, monitor placements, assess work environment, and identify strategies to maintain client success
- Develop and prepare employment and retention plans, training agreements, and associated file documentation; prepare and maintain files, statistics, reports and all documentation required to meet JVS Toronto, SalesForce, and Ministry service standards
- Provide workshop facilitation support as needed
- Flexible hours / evenings / weekends may be required for this position._
**Minimum Qualifications & Experience**:
- College diploma in Social Services, Marketing, or Business, or evaluated as the Canadian equivalency
- 2 years of direct working experience with persons with disabilities in a vocational setting
- Expert knowledge of developmental disabilities and their impact on employment
- Excellent marketing and written communication skills
- Effective problem-solving skills
- A Police Vulnerable Sector Check is required for this position
- Employment Ontario knowledge and exposure
- Previous job development and/or sales training and experience
- Access to a vehicle as this position requires travel
