We are looking for a **Primary Care Paramedic** on a **14 day on, 14 day off** rotation for approximately a **1-year contract **at our **Smoky Falls Dam project near Kapuskasing, Ontario.** - As a Primary Care Paramedic you'll be part of a team implementing and overseeing the Kiewit and Project Safety Program, including developing and promoting health policies and procedures. We primarily perform heavy civil projects specializing in earth moving, transportation, roadways, bridges, water resources, light rail systems, and underground utilities. We are looking for hard-working individuals with a passion for construction who aren't afraid to get their hands dirty**LOCATION**: - This role will be based in Ontario, just north or Kapuskasing. Working out of a camp with a medical clinic. Smoky Falls Dam Safety Project is a large hydro electric dam construction and refurbishment project.**RESPONSIBILITIES**: - Supporting the company's safety program and driving a safety-oriented approach to work - Managing open cases, contacting additional support when required, following up with patients and resources. - Working hand in hand with company safety representatives to ensure proper approach and support for site workers. - Supporting workers onsite with medical day to day needs - Maintaining a paperwork management system to track cases, ensuring parties have the appriproiate documentation to support and continue care. - Building and supporting relationships with local hospitals and oncall doctors. - Coordinating and presenting safety training to support client requirements, including new hire orientation, Emergency Response Team learning sessions, and presenting medical findings to management and workers. - Maintaining clinical / site medical supplies **QUALIFICATIONS**: - Registered Ontario Primary Care Paramedic - Experience with Case Management - Knowledge of OSHA regulations and hazard recognition, record keeping and injury management skills - Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint - Passion for safety / emergency response, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt - Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments - Ability to work on scheduled rotations of 14 days on 14 days off - Knowledge of Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and Construction Regulations - Ability to speak publically in groups and provide trainings **Other Requirements**: - Regular, reliable attendance - Work productively and meet deadlines timely - Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment - Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. - Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
