Formed in 2009, OCL started their first project and began building around a business model focused on “People and Doing the Job Right”. **The Role** We are currently recruiting for **Excavator** **Operators** who are local to the Edmonton / Fort Saskatchewan area. Previous experience is a must for this role. You will be working at 7:00 am Monday to Friday, 10 hours per day Monday to Thursday and 8 hours per day on Friday. **Compensation/Benefits** - Wages range based on experience - Overtime at 1.5 x after 8 hours per day - 10% vacation and stat pay on all regular hours worked - Benefits 50/50 split after 90 days with the company **Responsibilities and Duties** - Ability to safety operate heavy equipment - Work cooperatively with crew to accomplish tasks - Consistently monitor and maintain compliance with safety policies procedures and regulations - Ensure a safe team environment - Perform daily routine maintenance on machine including lubrication and monitor needed repairs/service requirements - Operate equipment while maintaining proper awareness of surroundings - Understand and complete pre and post safety checks - Compliance with all safety regulations - Various other duties assigned **The Project** Dow Chemical Canada is taking initiatives to increase production capacity and reduce carbon emissions as part of its sustainability goals. In this context, Dow has initiated the FS PATH2ZERO Program to decarbonize and grow production ~3MM mta of low to zero carbon emissions C2 derivatives at its Fort Saskatchewan facilities in Canada. The overall program includes an ethylene plant, derivative plants (five world scale polyethylene units) and their associated decarbonization scope. These assets are targeted to startup in the latter half of 2027 for the Program Phase 1 and in 2029 for the Program Phase 2. This contract for OCL would be the early works and block grading preparation for the construction of the new units as highlighted below: - Civil Site prep for the multiple blocks (stripping/grading) - Final grading/aggregate and paving placement - Site improvement; stormwater ditching and pond upgrades, parking lot expansions - Railway crossings - Underground piping & utilities - Electrical tie ins and undergrounds and grounding - High mast lighting foundations and install - Minor concrete works **Qualifications** - 3+ years previous experience operating an excavator in an industrial construction setting - Ability to operate and maintain equipment in a safe and efficient manner - Excellent hand-eye coordination - Strong communication skills - Valid Ground Disturbance ticket - Familiarity with GPS and other tracking devices - Drivers license with a clean drivers abstract - Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and procedures - Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test **Our Culture** Our employees would describe the work environment as team based, fast paced and entrepreneurial.
