**Community Coordinator**

The role of the Community Coordinator will be to report to the homestay coordinator and assist the office in pairing incoming students with our established host families, prepare and keep updated records of host payments and accounting reports while liaising between the registrars, program coordinators and school staff.

**Major Duties and Responsibilities**:
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following responsibilities:

- Assessing the needs of the matching department, through planning, and strategizing
- Managing all Red Leaf homestay programs in your area
- Process and manage student and host family information and documentation
- Preparing weekly host cheques and bi-monthly payment reports
- Organizing and arranging student transportation to and from school, as well as airport transfers
- Be available in case of student’s emergency
- Problem solving and moving students, ensuring the students well being
- Medicals - during programs and on evenings and weekends
- Pitching and up-selling prospective student to hosts
- Handling challenging calls and problem-solving while staying objective and calm
- Maintaining database through ongoing updating
- Double-check matches to ensure host/student needs, preferences and requirements have been met
- Work closely with Program Coordinators and Director, International Education
- Coordinate and supervise a wide variety of extra-curricular activities, events, and trips;
- Meet and/or communicate with international students, school administrators, teaching staff, and host parents on a regular basis;
- Process and manage student and host family information and documentation;
- Perform other related duties as needed or assigned.

**Work Experience required**
- Experience in the education field
- Any type of youth and counseling work is an asset
- **Relationship with Halton Catholic School Board is an asset**

- Excellence in personal, oral and written communication skills
- Effective problem solving skills under tight time constraints
- Ability to multi-task and work in a variety of environments
- Ability to work well both independently and as a team member
- Conflict management experience and mentorship skills
**Additional Duties;**
- Emergency Phone -_ The emergency phone will be rotated among staff members on a bi-weekly basis during the fall/winter season and weekly during the spring/summer season.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 20 per week

**Salary**: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
