**About the Opportunity**:
The Planning and Evaluation Coordinator is responsible for providing expert advice and leadership for evidence-gathering and planning initiatives to support accountability, planning, and evidence-based decision making within Mental Health and Addictions Program (MHAP).

The Coordinator establishes and leads project teams and committees to develop monitoring and evaluation initiatives for Mental Health and Addictions programs, policies, and strategies; leads the development of performance measurement initiatives; designs and implements evaluation frameworks, logic models and related tools/approaches; conducts literature reviews and jurisdictional scans and supports key informant interviews. The Coordinator will assist in design and execution of internal evaluations of MHAP activities that identify best practices in upskilling programming, and which inform subsequent iterations and foster continuous innovation. The Coordinator will utilize a number of sources including information on outcomes and available surveys to provide insights, identify trends, evaluate progress towards key performance indicators, and develop reports for both internal and external audiences.

The Coordinator contributes to a culture of evaluation and evidence-informed decision-making through the development of tools, standardized processes, and capacity-building initiatives.

**About You**:

- Masters degree in program evaluation, public health, health administration, social sciences, or community health, with an emphasis on program planning and evaluation. An acceptable equivalent of training and experience will be considered
- Preference will be given to individuals with the Canadian Evaluations Society's Credentialed Evaluator designation
- Minimum five years of experience in planning, evaluation, quality improvement, or social science research
- Demonstrated knowledge of research and evaluation design and methodologies
- Strong project management and facilitation skills
- Excellent communication skills to interpret evaluation and statistical information to non-evaluators
- Very strong information analysis, synthesis, interpretation and writing skills
- Experience conducting systematic literature reviews and environment scans, key informant interviews and surveys
- Understanding of the population health approach
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Experience in mental health and addictions is preferred
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

**Hours**:

- Permanent full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
- Regular travel across sites within Nova Scotia is required
- Occasional evening or weekend work

**Compensation and Incentives**:
$34.96 - $42.58 hourly
